Barometer sensors are used in countless applications: examples include vehicles with combustion engines (air pressure as an important parameter for engine control), altimeters (calculation of altitude using barometric altitude formula), navigation systems, smartphones and, of course, in weather stations. But is the absolute pressure displayed, correct? Thanks to the optional calibration certificates, the barometer can serve as a perfect reference device for checking the actual accuracy of corresponding devices.
