product description
OMNI: evaluation electronic with analog output, switching function and display
General information:
The magnetic inductive probe FIS are installed into the pipe by means of the supplied welding socket (DN 25) or the mounting clip made of plastic (DN 50 bis DN 150). The complete measurement probe is removable without creating an aperture to the medium. Therefore in case of a defect only the electronic part must be replaced. When an electrical conductor moves vertical to the magnetic field, the movement induces a voltage U in this conductor. With this measurement principle the electrical conductive medium is the conductor. The magnetic field B is located transversely to the flow direction. The induced voltage U is directly proportional to the local flow speed v.
The OMNI transmitter on the sensor has a graphical, backlit LCD display which is clearly readable, both in the dark and in bright sunlight. The graphics display allows the indication of measured values and parameters in a clearly understandable form. The measured values are displayed with 4 digits, together with their physical unit which may also be modified by the user. The electronics have an analog output (4 mA to 20 mA or 0 V to 10 V) and two switching outputs, which can be used as limit switches for minimum or maximum monitoring or as two-point controllers. The switching outputs are designed as a push-pull drivers, and therefore can be used both as PNP or NPN outputs. The exceeding of limit values is signalled by a red LED which is visible over long distances and by a cleartext message on the display. The housing made of stainless steel has a hardened, scratchproof mineral glass pane. It is operated via a programming ing ring that is fitted with a magnet. Therefore housing cutouts for the purpose of operating elements are not necessary and the tightness of the housing is permanently ensured.
By turning the ring to right or left, you may modify the parameters (e.g. switching point, hysteresis...). To protect from unintended programming, it can be taken off, turned by 180° and replaced afterwards, or it can be removed completely, thus acting as a key.
