product description

OMNI: evaluation electronic with analog output, switching function and display

Screw volumeter

Construction type: connection material AL, anodised, without additional flange

General information:

The flow transmitter VHS measures the flow according to the volumetric principle and is suitable for fluid, viscous, lubricating media (e.g. lubricating oil). If the material of the VHS is selected appropriately also aqueous fluids such as soaps, pasts and emulsions with non-abrasive character can be measured, as long as they have sufficient lubricity. Because of the volumetric operation, the devices are almost completely independent of viscosity.

The VHS system consists of two interlacing screws which run in opposite directions, driven by the flowing medium. A magnetically pre-tensioned Hall sensor positioned outside the flow space detects the screw flanks and creates a frequency signal proportional to the flow. Each puls corresponds to a specific measured volume. There are no magnets in the flow space.

The OMNI transmitter on the sensor has a graphical, backlit LCD display which is clearly readable, both in the dark and in bright sunlight. The graphics display allows the indication of measured values and parameters in a clearly understandable form.

The measured values are displayed with 4 digits, together with their physical unit which may also be modified by the user. The electronics have an analog output (4 mA to 20 mA or 0 V to 10 V) and two switching outputs, which can be used as limit switches for minimum or maximum monitoring or as two-point controllers.

The switching outputs are designed as a push-pull drivers, and therefore can be used both as PNP or NPN outputs. The exceeding of limit values is signalled by a red LED which is visible over long distances and by a cleartext message on the display. The housing made of stainless steel has a hardened, scratchproof mineral glass pane. It is operated via a programming ing ring that is fitted with a magnet. Therefore housing cutouts for the purpose of operating elements are not necessary and the tightness of the housing is permanently ensured.

By turning the ring to right or left, you may modify the parameters (e.g. switching point, hysteresis...). To protect from unintended programming, it can be taken off, turned by 180° and replaced afterwards, or it can be removed completely, thus acting as a key.
